Important - 2020 Season

Hello everyone,

Following the announcement of the deconfinement of sports activities in Quebec, the ABAA is pleased to announce the start of the 2020 baseball season. The young players of Aylmer will have the opportunity to reconnect with their friends and practice their favorite sport. You will understand that this year promises to be exceptional and that our only priority will be to ensure that our players can have fun in a safe environment. To ensure the success of the season, we have divided the season into 2 phases.

We are very aware that at the moment there are still several uncertainties regarding the various safety protocols and the different rule changes for baseball this summer. I want to reassure you that there will be very few changes to the baseball rules. All the volunteers will do everything in their power to ensure that the players experience is positive and fluid from the moment they arrive at the field until the exit. For more details, I encourage you to consult our question and answer document. I assure you that no compromise will be made regarding the safety and well-being of players, volunteers and parents.

Phase 1 (according to the BQ guide innings 1 to 4)

Duration: This phase will take place from June 14th to July 18th.

Operation: For each category, the players will be divided into groups of about 10 players (see Groups and Schedule for Phase 1, as posted on the ABAA site. During the first two weeks, the focus will be on fitness as well as technical baseball workshops. From the third week (June 28th) and with the approbation of Baseball Quebec, we will begin inter-association games. Different groups will have the opportunity to play full games against each other with umpires. It is important to mention that during this phase there will be no A and B levels. All players will all be mixed. This phase will also serve as an evaluation period. At the end of this phase, level A and B teams will be formed to start the second phase of the year.

Where: The Atome and Mosquito groups will have their practices and their games at the Kenneth-Lloyd and Belmont baseball fields.
The Peewee, Bantam and Midget groups will have their practices and their games at Aydelu and Allen baseball fields.

Phase 2 (according to the BQ guide inning 5)

Duration: This phase will take place from July 19th to September 6th.

Operation: This is the start of the regional season (LBO). During 7 weeks of activity, the teams will have the opportunity to play about 14 games. The full schedule will be available in early July.

Where: The Atome B, Moustique B and Peewee B teams will play in the west (sector: Aylmer, Hull and La Pêche).
